Dilemma at the Cattery

Geelong look to be a major player in this year's trade period, looking to poach stars from every position. But how can they manage to recruit them all?

Patrick Dangerfield

Scott

Selwood

Lachie Henderson

Zac

Smith

Current Club: Adelaide

Position: Midfielder

Official Player Ratings: 3

Originally Drafted At: Pick 7, 2007 National Draft

Dangerfield comes from the Geelong area and has selected Geelong as his club of choice. Dangerfield is a restricted free agent, but Adelaide have said they will match any bid.

Possible Deal: Pick 9 and 28. It's a lot, but getting Dangerfield comes at a price.

Current Club: Gold Coast

Position: Ruckman

Official AFL Player Ratings: 354

Originally Drafted At: Gold Coast QLD/NT Zone

Smith has requested out of Gold Coast and has nominated Geelong as his club of choice. Geelong need a ruckman, and Smith would be a perfect fit for the Cats.

Possible Deal: Pick 37. Smith is by no means an A-grader, meaning Geelong should get him cheap.

Current Club: West Coast

Position: Midfielder

Official Player Ratings: 352

Originally Drafted At: Pick 22, 2007 National Draft

Scott Selwood is a restricted free agent, but West Coast will probably not match any bids. Selwood did not play in the Grand Final, and wants to be with his brother, Joel.

Possible Deal: Free agency. Geelong looks like getting Selwood for nothing.

Current Club: Carlton

Position: Key Forward/Defender

Official Player Ratings: 178

Originally Drafted At: Pick 8, 2007 National Draft

Henderson is officially leaving Carlton, and this has been known since mid-August. He has not named a club of choice, but all signs are pointing to Henderson at Geelong. He grew up in Geelong.

Possible Deal: 2016 first-round pick. Henderson is worth about pick 13-14, which is what Geelong should have next year.
